The Medlin
Group Values in Action
The
Medlin Group LLC believes one of the greatest contributions a company
can make is in giving back to others. The “C”
Factor also includes compassion, Christian values, and community.
As a result, The Medlin Group co-founders actively donate their
time and resources through a variety of humanitarian and pro bono
offerings and events.
Halftime
for Busy Executives. In support of Bob Buford’s bestselling
book and course curriculum, Halftime, (see www.halftime.org),
The Medlin Group has launched this multi-week class for churches
or other faith-based organizations seeking to offer this session
to the corporate executive leaders of their congregations and communities.
Both of the co-founders of The Medlin Group were personally and
profoundly affected by the book’s message of reorienting one’s
life from success to significance and share their personal stories
as a way of initiating and introducing this compelling offering.
A
Break from the Heavy Lifting. The Medlin Group partners
with the pastors of five urban churches serving the downtown Denver,
CO neighborhoods. These five pastors are uniquely gifted to handle
the social, physical, familial, community and spiritual needs of
those they serve. In an effort to provide renewal for the pastors
and their families, The Medlin Group sponsors various recreational
opportunities to provide these tireless, committed ministers a break
from the stressful demands of their daily responsibilities.
Leadership
Development for Young Urban Leaders. In partnership with
Target Teams, Inc. (see www.target-teams.com),
The Medlin Group offers leadership behavioral and motivational assessments,
interpretation, and evaluation to urban leaders. This effort is
targeted at improving their leadership skills around team communications,
coordination, and cooperation. Primarily targeted to young leaders
who intend to return to and work in the urban community upon attaining
their university degree, these tools, written reports, and the half-day
seminars lay a strong foundation for better understanding one’s
own style and strengths as well as quickly assessing those characteristics
in others, all designed to enhance a leader’s ability to motivate
and direct others toward a common, productive, relevant set of goals.
Bringing
the Wild into the City (or vice versa!). The
Medlin Group sponsors inner-city kids who are attending summer church
camp to visit The Wildlife Experience (www.thewildlifeexperience.org)
for a day. This trip involves a bus ride to the facility, one or
two nature movies in the I-WERKS Theater, lunch, and a museum tour
of the wildlife that call our country "home".
Building
Business Plans for Churches. Often churches, especially
those with demanding and diverse constituencies, find themselves
reacting and responding to critical needs in the moment. While these
immediate actions are exceedingly necessary, so is the ability to
plan for the future, think strategically, and effectively manage
the church’s multi-faceted operations. The Medlin Group applies
its corporate business practices in working with the executive leaders
in the church to help them build a business plan for growth and
longevity of organization’s vital mission.
Summer
Camp in the City. When school ends for the summer, many
urban kids normally in class find themselves with nothing to do
and no supervision to attend to them. The Medlin Group co-sponsors
Youth Camp in partnership with inner city churches. The church supplies
the facility, curriculum, and counselors and The Medlin Group’s
grant supplies the funding to host kids four days a week for eight
weeks during June and July.
